Susan Sarandon may be joining the cast of the upcoming Adam Sandler/Andy Samberg comedy I Hate You, Dad. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, saying that Sarandon is currently in negotiations.
Set up at Columbia Pictures and to be produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison banner, I Hate You, Dad centers on a father (Sandler) who moves in on the eve of his son’s (Samberg) wedding and promptly begins feuding with the bride-to-be (Leighton Meester).
Sarandon would play a teacher that Sandler’s character falls for and who winds up becoming the mother of Samberg’s character. The cast is also said to include Ian Ziering and Vanilla Ice with a slew of other talent said to be in talks, including Eva Amurri, James Caan, Blake Clarke, Meagan Fay, Will Forte, Tony Orlando, Dan Patrick and Milo Ventimiglia
The film, set to shoot in Boston this summer, was written by David Caspe with a rewrite by David Wain and Ken Marino and Sean Anders attached to direct.
