In light of recent events, actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that, at least temporarily, he will not be moving forward with any of his announced acting projects.
“Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters,” said a representative in an official statement, “and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes ‘Cry Macho,’ The ‘Terminator’ franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides.”
Cry Macho, an adaptation of the 1975 novel by N. Richard Nash, was being developed to star Schwarzenegger and would have been directed by N. Richard Nash. The fifth Terminator film would have been helmed by Fast Five‘s Justin Lin.
Schwarzenegger was also developing “The Governator” as a comic book, animated series and possible 3D feature film. The producers of the property released the following statement:
“In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics and Archie Comics have put ‘The Governator’ project on hold.”
