Bokeem Woodbine is negotiating to appear in the upcoming remake of Total Recall, Variety reports.
The film is based on the 1990 Paul Verhoeven adaptation of the short Philip K. Dick story, “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.” The original starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid (to be played by Colin Farrell in this version), a man who, after buying implanted memories of a vacation to Mars, begins to remember experiences tied to an elaborate conspiracy.
Woodbine, who has appeared in films that range from The Rock to Ray to Devil, would play the role of Quaid’s best friend, joining Bryan Cranston as the villain and, likely, Kate Beckinsale as Quaid’s wife.
Total Recall is currently eyeing an August 3, 2012 release.
