Alyson Hannigan is set to return for American Reunion, the fourth feature “American Pie” film, Deadline is reporting.
There was some worry that her “How I Met Your Mother” schedule might conflict with the sequel’s production, though the film’s producer, Craig Perry, told ComingSoon.net last December that the plan was to have everyone from the original film return.
The new film, written and directed by the “Harold & Kumar” pair of Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, will pick up sometime after American Wedding and take a look at the “American Pie” characters more than a decade after they first debuted.
American Reunion will likely shoot this summer, taking advantage of Hannigan’s summer break from “How I Met Your Mother.”
