Alison Brie has signed on for the Nick Stoller comedy Five-Year Engagement, Variety is reporting.
Brie is said to be playing the sister to Emily Blunt’s character and, as such, will play the part with a British accent. The film, first announced for development just over three years ago, is said to be a bawdy, couples comedy, and charts the five-year engagement of a man (Segel) and his fiancee, following the ups and downs of their relationship.
Judd Apatow is producing the film for Universal with a script from both Stoller and Segel.
Brie, best known for her television roles on “Mad Men” and “Community,” will also appear on the big screen next month in Scream 4.
