While it has been rumored for quite some time, Heat Vision is now reporting that Kristen Stewart is in negotiations for the role of Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman.
The film, designed as a new take on the classic fairy tale, expands the role of the Huntsman. In the Brothers Grimm version, he is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and kill her, but instead lets her go. In the new take, the Huntsman is not a love interest but, instead, serves as a mentor, teaching Snow White to fight and survive against the evil queen.
Viggo Mortensen will fill in the part of the Huntsman with Charlize Theron playing the role of the Queen. Stewart is not currently a lock, but a decision should be reached soon as the film is about to enter production, targeting a release of December 21, 2012.
