Fast Five Moves Away From Super 8

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Paramount Pictures had targeted a June 10, 2011 release for J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 – the same day Universal’s Fast Five was going to open.

Universal has now moved Fast Five up to April 29, leaving Fast Five to face only the less competitive romantic comedy Something Borrowed.

April 29 also has a pair of other comedies scheduled – Disney’s Prom and Fox’s What’s Your Number?.

With Fast Five moving to April 29 that means Universal’s The Thing is now without a release date. We’ll have to wait and see where the studio puts the thriller.
