Nick Offerman, Asa Butterfield & More Join House of Tomorrow

Superlative Films announced today Academy Award winner and recent Emmy nominee Ellen Burstyn (Interstellar, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore), Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation,” “Fargo”), Asa Butterfield (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Hugo), Alex Wolff (Patriot’s Day, Coming Through the Rye), Maude Apatow (Other People, This Is 40) and Michaela Watkins (“Casual”, “Wet Hot American Summer”) will co-star in writer/director Peter Livolsi’s directorial debut The House of Tomorrow. The film is being produced by Tarik Karam and Superlative Films’ Danielle Renfrew Behrens, in association with Water’s End Productions. Executive Producers include Ellen Burstyn, Nick Offerman and Tom Dolby. Filming is underway in Minnesota.

Based on the award-winning novel by Peter Bognanni, The House of Tomorrow tells futurist, architect, and inventor R. Buckminster Fuller’s incredible story through two teens hoping to get laid, become punk gods, and survive high school. Writer/director Peter Livolsi participated in the 2016 Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the project was a recipient of the Tribeca Film Institute Sloan Grant.

Director Peter Livolsi commented, “Peter Bognanni’s book is full of great characters, not the least of which is Buckminster Fuller, a man whose ideas are so spectacular they seem like fiction. He did things his own way just like the punk heroes the boys in our story aspire to become.”

Producer Tarik Karam added, “Danielle and I are thrilled to have such an amazing cast to bring Peter’s funny and poignant script to life. We’re especially honored to have Ellen Burstyn’s support on screen and as a producer, because she was a long time friend of Buckminster Fuller’s.”
