Doctor Strange Director Teases a Comic-Con Appearance
Marvel Studios has previously proven that they don’t “need” to appear at San Diego Comic-Con to announce their slate or cause a stir online, but after skipping the 2015 convention it would appear that the studio is coming back. Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson took to Twitter to tease an appearance by the Sorcerer Supreme.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn replied, teasing he will also be present for the convention.
Really? You’ll be so close. I might have to come see you. https://t.co/LbqvjJ46Vg

Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be completed within the next week, meaning James Gunn and Marvel might deliver the first taste of the upcoming sequel at the convention (they previously debuted the teaser for the first film at 2013’s San Diego Comic-Con after filming for just ten days).
It’s unclear what else we can expect from Marvel’s appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, but production will be underway for both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok so it remains to be seen if either of the casts for those films will be present.
