Jesse Eisenberg thinks he’s coming back for Justice League
Production is already underway for Warner Bros.‘ upcoming Justice League Part One and the cast has continued to grow as cameras roll. One character, however, that we don’t know for sure about is Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, who had some cryptic words at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that appeared to set up the 2017 film.
Speaking on a panel at MCM Comic Con in London, Eisenberg was asked if he’s returning for the film, but he’s not even sure himself.
“They just started filming Justice League so I’m kind of waiting for my crack at it… I think so, and I love it and I love everybody, it’s a really talented group of people obviously, so I certainly hope to be in it.”
One character we know will return is Jeremy Irons’ Alfred Pennyworth. The actor spoke with Event magazine about the reaction to Batman v Superman and promised that the next film will be “simpler.”
“Deservedly so,” Irons said about the mixed reaction to the film. “I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter, but it was sort of overstuffed… It was very muddled. I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear.”
Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot will be reprising their roles as the DC Trinity, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Justice League, and joining them are Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. Amber Heard is set to play Queen Mera in the film as well before moving to the solo Aquaman movie in 2018, with Willem Dafoe appearing in a mystery role, and J.K. Simmons playing Commissioner Gordon.
Justice League will debut in theaters on November 10, 2017.
