Carey Mulligan (An Education) is in negotiations to join Ryan Gosling and Bryan Cranston in Universal’s action-thriller Drive, reports Risky Business.
To be directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Valhalla Rising, Bronson), the film is based on the James Sallis novel about a Hollywood stunt driver (Gosling) who moonlights as a getaway car driver in heists. In the book, the stuntman’s already-exciting existence gets jolted when he discovers that a contract has been put out on his life.
Mulligan will play an ex-con’s girlfriend who is taken along for the ride.
The project starts shooting around Los Angeles next month. Hossein Amini (Killshot) wrote the adapted screenplay.
