Deadline reports that Ben Affleck has just signed on to serve as an executive producer for Warner Bros.‘ upcoming Justice League movie, which he also stars in as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The outlet mentions he will work with director Zack Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio to “make the film the best he can.”
This announcement should also cement that WB is investing heavily in Affleck’s involvement with their DC Cinematic Universe moving forward as he’s set to direct a solo Batman movie some time in the future. He co-wrote the script for that film with DC Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns.
Production is already underway for Justice League in London. Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot are reprising their roles as the DC Trinity, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, in the film, with Jason Mamoa appearing as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. Amber Heard is set to play Queen Mera in the film as well before moving to the solo Aquaman movie in 2018, Willem Dafoe is appearing in a mystery role, with Jeremy Irons returning as Alfred Pennyworth and J.K. Simmons playing Commissioner Gordon.
Justice League will debut in theaters on November 10, 2017.
