In April, EON Productions announced that it had suspended development on Bond 23.
“Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on ‘Bond 23’ indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of ‘Bond 23,'” said producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
Recently, the news was rehashed by British tabloids, which said that the production was now completely cancelled, but those rumors were inaccurate.
IGN UK caught up with Wilson today at the launch of the new James Bond game titled “Blood Stone” and asked for an update. “Both Barbara and I are convinced that we’ll be bringing you another Bond film soon,” he said.
Sam Mendes was previously announced as being attached to direct and Daniel Craig is expected to return as 007 a third time.
Activision’s “James Bond 007: Blood Stone” features the likeness and voice talent of Craig, Joss Stone and Judi Dench and features an original story developed by screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. Stone will also provide an original musical track to the game titled, “I’ll Take it All,” written and performed by her and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. “Blood Stone” is coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
