Odeya Rush and Josh Wiggins have joined the cast of The Bachelors opposite J.K. Simmons and Julie Delpy
Rising newcomers Josh Wiggins (Max, Lost in the Sun) and Odeya Rush (The Giver, Goosebumps) have joined the cast of the upcoming ensemble The Bachelors. The young pair join a cast that already includes Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Kung Fu Panda 3) and Golden Globe and Oscar nominee Julie Delpy (Before Sunrise series).
A comedy drama, The Bachelors begins when a widower and his 17-year-old son, hoping for a fresh start, move from a small northern California town to Los Angeles. There, a new job, a new school, a wry old friend and two extraordinary women play a transformative role in the reshaping of their lives.
The Bachelors, scheduled to begin principal photography in Los Angeles March 14th, 2016, is written and will be directed by Kurt Voelker (Sweet November, Park)
The Bachelors is produced by Matthew Baer (Unbroken, City By the Sea), George Parra (The Descendants, Silver Linings Playbook), and Windowseat Entertainment’s Joe McKelheer (Barely Lethal, The Hammer) and Bill Kiely (Chasing Giants, Adderall Diaries). Windowseat Entertainment is fully financing the film with Fortitude International handling foreign rights. The Gersh Agency and CAA are representing North American rights.
“Odeya and Josh first caught our attention in Vanity Fair’s ‘Hollywood’s Next Wave,'” said producer Matthew Baer. “They are terrific young actors who will make a memorable on-screen pair, working alongside J.K. and Julie to bring Kurt’s emotional script to life.”
Josh Wiggins can also be seen coming up starring opposite Bill Paxton and Sophie Nélisse in Mean Dreams and opposite Bill Pullman and Matt Bomer in Walking Out. Odeya Rush, meanwhile, will soon star opposite Sam Worthington in Jonathan Mostow’s Hunter’s Prayer.
