Screen Daily is reporting that actress Amanda Seyfried (Ted 2, While We’re Young) has been cast opposite Clive Owen (“The Knick,” Children of Men) in the dystopian sci-fi thriller Anon from writer/director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, The Host). Seyfried previously worked with Niccol on the futuristic In Time.
Anon centers on a detective (Owen) living in a world where privacy and anonymity have been completely eliminated. When he discovers a woman (Seyfried) who has no digital footprint, it leads him on the trail of a bigger crime in the works.
Anon is produced by K5 Film’s Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur and Niccol.
Seyfried is currently filming David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” revival for Showtime, and will next star in The Last Word opposite Shirley MacLaine.
