Ryan Reynolds may reteam with Deadpool’s screenwriters for the science fiction feature, Life
With Deadpool now in theaters following a record breaking opening weekend, Deadline is reporting that star Ryan Reynolds may have already lined up a new project hailing from Deadpool screenwriters, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. According to the outlet, Reynolds is in talks to join the cast of Life, an original science fiction tale that recently brought aboard Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation‘s Rebecca Ferguson to headline.
Life will follow a crew aboard the International Space Station who, after retrieving a sample from Mars, discover that it displays signs of life. Said life, of course, proves to be more intelligent and cunning than expected.
Life is set to be directed by Daniel Espinosa, the Swedish filmmaker behind films like Easy Money and Safe House. The latter, released in 2012, pulled in more than $208 million at the worldwide box office and starred Reynolds opposite Denzel Washington.
Coming up, Reynolds will reprise his voice role as Guy in 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Animation‘s The Croods 2. Look for it to hit the big screen December 22, 2017.
David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are producing Life alongside Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.
