Marc Guggenheim (“FlashForward,” upcoming Green Lantern) is set to write fantasy action adventure Leonardo da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever for Warner Bros. Pictures.
The studio acquired the project in early March from producers Adrian Askarieh, Roy Lee and Doug Davison.
“Soldiers of Forever” re-imagines Da Vinci as a member of a secret society who falls headlong into a supernatural adventure that pits Da Vinci against Biblical demons in a story involving secret codes, lost civilizations, hidden fortresses and fallen angels.
The studio has also hired Guggenhem to work on a draft of Thieves of Baghdad, a 10th century family adventure steeped in the world of the Arabian Nights. Based on Cole Hadden’s take on the original collection of folk tales “One Thousand and One Nights,” it is a film that weaves Sinbad, Ali Baba, flying carpets, sword fights and genies in urns.
