MGM has kept the storyline for Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon’s The Cabin in the Woods under wraps for the most part – until today, that is.
Amy Acker confirmed to SCI FI Wire at WonderCon over the weekend that the film is a creature feature. “There’s a lot of scary monsters,” she told them. The actress, who has worked with Whedon in the past, co-stars with Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly and Chris Hemsworth.
“It’s about a cabin in the woods,” she adds. “It does take from the sort of formula of the horror movie of this group of young kids who go away to a cabin in the woods for the weekend, and everything that happens and what you think is supposed to happen.”
The Cabin in the Woods was supposed to be released in January until the filmmaker decided to take a year to convert it to 3D, so you can now expect it on January 14, 2011.
