UPDATE: First Look at Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game !

Less than two days after the first teaser trailer for Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World had the internet all abuzz, a first look at Ubisoft’s (semi) tie-in video game, “Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game!” has been spotted at PAX East video game conference in Boston by German game site Attract Mode.

New York punk band Anamanaguchi, who announced recently they are providing the music for the game, gave a concert at PAX East, which included visuals from the game designed by artist and animator Paul Robertson whose distinctive art style could previous be seen in the animated short “Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006”. Bryan Lee O’Malley, the creator of the “Scott Pilgrim” graphic novels, has been working closely with Ubisoft in Montreal to make sure the look and feel was like that of the books, rather than going for the likenesses of the actors playing the characters in the upcoming Universal movie.

You can see some of the images below (courtesy of Matthew Hawkins’ Fort 90 Journal) but then head over to Attract Mode to check out the rest.

UPDATE: Also thanks to UK’s HeyUGuys blog, you can actually watch Anamanaguchi’s performance at PAX East embedded below:

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World comes out on August 13 and stars Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Jason Schwartzman and more. No release date has been set for the Ubisoft game… but Bryan Lee O’Malley’s final volume in the series, “Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour” will be released by Oni Press on July 20. (Thanks NickDynmo!)
