Sony’s Screen Gems has made a few changes to its release schedule today. First up, the studio is moving comic book adaptation Priest back from Aug. 20 to Jan. 14, 2011 and it will now be released in 3D.
With that change, Screen Gems has pushed back Takers from May 15 to Aug. 20.
The studio has also pushed back The Roommate from Sept. 17 to Feb. 1, 2011. Taking up that Sept. 17 slot will now be Easy A.
Underworld 4 has been pushed back from Jan. 21, 2011 to Sept. 23, 2011 as well. The fourth installment was reportedly going be filmed in 3D, but that no longer appears to be the case.

Screen Gems’ highly-anticipated motion picture “Priest” will be released in 3D in theaters nationwide on January 14, 2011, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, Chairman of Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution.
In “Priest,” a warrior priest disobeys Church law by teaming with a young sheriff and a beautiful priestess. The three band together to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest’s niece before they turn her into one of them. The film stars Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Karl Urban, and Maggie Q, and is directed by Scott Stewart. The screenplay is by Cory Goodman, based on the graphic novel series “Priest” by Min-Woo Hyung. The film is produced by Michael DeLuca, Josh Donen, and Mitchell Peck.
Commenting on the announcement, Clint Culpepper, President of Screen Gems said, “We’re thrilled with the way ‘Priest’ has come together, and we saw some spectacular sequences in the film that we all believed would be even more amazing in 3D. Scott, as well as the producers, couldn’t be more excited to make the film available for audiences in both 2D and 3D.”
