The Flash movie finds its director with Seth Grahame-Smith!
The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter author Seth Grahame-Smith has been tapped to write and direct Warner Bros. upcoming The Flash movie! The LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have written a treatment for the film, which they were considering to direct, but have since been tapped for the upcoming Han Solo movie from Disney and Lucasfilm.
Grahame-Smith has previously written the screenplays for Dark Shadows, Beetlejuice 2, and the upcoming The LEGO Batman Movie. The film would mark his feature directorial debut, having previously directed two episodes of his short-lived TV series “The Hard Times of RJ Berger.”
Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will star as the titular hero in the upcoming film, which is set for release on March 3, 2018. Miller will make his debut as Barry Allen in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016 and in Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017.
Though it’s been confirmed that the DC Entertainment television shows and feature films are unrelated, it will be interesting to see the correlation between Grant Gustin’s version of The Flash from the popular CW series and Miller’s version in the feature.
