I can’t remember when it was exactly, but a long time ago I started reading Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins‘ “Left Behind” series of novels focusing on events following The Rapture. I was intrigued after the first one, but I don’t think I got beyond four of them (I think there are 12) before I got so bored with it all. Flat out, they just aren’t very good, even for airport fiction.
Already, Kirk Cameron has starred in three movies based on the series and now Nicolas Cage is taking a stab at it and today we have the first trailer and poster for the film due in theaters on October 3.
Starring Cage alongside Chad Michael Murray, Jordin Sparks, Lea Thompson, Nicky Whelan and Cassi Thomson, the story centers on
a small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction. If I’m not mistaken, Damon Lindelof based the idea on his new HBO series “The Leftovers” on the same idea.
