For as long as more recent years Tom Hardy attached himself to star as Sam Fisher, a highly-trained special operative in a fictional black-ops operation called Echelon, and it seems he’s remained aboard as a new director has now come around.
THR reports Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is now attached to direct the film at Paramount from a screenplay written by Eric Singer (American Hustle).
It seems this time things have actually come together with production slated to begin in August with plans for a 2015 release, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see Paramount stake out an early 2016 release as 2015 is already looking rather crowded.
