Simon Kinberg recently came aboard to rewrite the script for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot with Josh Trank (Chronicle) at the helm and now a shortlist of actors up for consideration in the film has surfaced and included is a name Trank previously took to Twitter to deny.
Up until now, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) who co-starred in Trank’s Chronicle is the only name that has remained consistently “attached”, perhaps taking on the role of Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch), the role Chris Evans once occupied before taking on Captain America. He appears to still be a strong possibility and now five new names are being floated.
First, Variety reports Kit Harington (Jon Snow on “Game of Thrones”), Jack O’Connell (300: Rise of an Empire) and Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) will read for the role of Reed Richards, the latter of which was first rumored back in early August only to have Trank deny the report on Twitter.
Next, Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) and Kate Mara (127 Hours) will apparently test for Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman).
While there isn’t a script yet, the actors are expected to begin testing soon with a March 6, 2015 release date still anticipated.
