Cannes 2013: Juno Temple Stars in Clip from New Thriller, ‘Magic Magic’

I am flying at the moment and my GoGo Internet access isn’t allowing me to watch the full clip featured below, but this is your first look at writer/director Sebastian Silva‘s Magic Magic, which played at Sundance earlier this year and is part of the Directors’ Fortnight selection at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The thriller centers on Juno Temple (Killer Joe) as a young girl vacationing in Chile when she begins to unravel and her cousin and friends ignore her until it’s too late.

Michael Cera and Emily Browning co-star and the film has yet to acquire a distribution deal so the Cannes reactions will be watched closely.

As for Silva, he directed The Maid back in 2009, which I haven’t seen, but actually heard was quite good so this is certainly a film to keep an eye on and the first of two collaborations he worked on with Cera, the other being Crystal Fairy, which was picked up by IFC out of Sundance and will hit theaters in July.
