Leonardo DiCaprio starred in Django Unchained this year and will be seen in The Great Gatsby and Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street next year (both of which, by the way, made my Top 50 Most Anticipated Movies of 2013 list), but after that we might not see him for a little while.
Speaking with the German daily Bild (via) DiCaprio said:
“I am a bit drained. I’m now going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out. I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.”
A trip to IMDb shows 23 films in development for DiCaprio, which I’m assuming will slowly begin to diminish.
The only one I’m a little disappointed may find the backburner is Satori based on Don Winslow’s novel, which itself was a sequel to Trevanian’s “Shibumi“, which I highly recommend if any of you need something to read. I have yet to read Winslow’s “Satori” and am a little hesitant since he didn’t write the original, but I do have it on my iPad so I’m sure one day I’ll get to it.
