I like to see what looks like some renewed excitement for a new Woody Allen feature as it seemed like interest may have been fading a bit before Midnight in Paris after You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, but it seems Woody’s venture to Rome in To Rome with Love has people talking and today Sony Pictures Classics have uploaded five new pictures from the film to their newly launched Facebook page.
In the pics you’ll get looks at Penelope Cruz, Alex Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Jesse Eisenberg and a first look at Ellen Page‘s character, whom I think we can now assume is in a relationship with Eisenberg.
The plot is a bit wide open and non-specific telling us this is a story about a number of people in Italy — some American, some Italian, some residents, some visitors — and the romances and adventures and predicaments they get into. Along with those already mentioned, Allen himself will be starring in the film along with Judy Davis, Riccardo Scamarcio, Judy Davis, Greta Gerwig, Alison Pill, Ornella Muti and Flavio Parenti.
To Rome with Love is slated for a June 22 release and most are expecting it to be Allen’s third film in a row to play the Cannes Film Festival before hitting theaters. Personally, I know that’s what I’m hoping for.
