Trailer and Poster for ’13’ Starring Statham, Rourke and 50 Cent

Back in April, Mickey Rourke was spotted by Vulture after a screening of Scream 4 and got to talking about his upcoming film 13, which had yet to acquire distribution. The film is a remake of the French crime drama 13 Tzameti and is directed by the same helmer, Gela Babluani, and apparently Rourke wasn’t too proud of it.

Rourke stars in the film with Jason Statham, 50 Cent, Sam Riley, Ray Winstone, Michael Shannon, Ben Gazzara, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Natasha Lyonne and when asked about his new movie this is how the brief interview went:

You [and 50 Cent] are in a movie together, right?

A really bad movie, yeah.

What?! Is it out?

No, it’s so bad it can’t get out.

Tell me why you made it.

For the money.

But you think the movie’s bad.

Terrible.

Why?

You have to watch it.

Ouch, and with that we have the theatrical trailer for the film which hits two theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 28 before arriving on Blu-ray and DVD November 8. Check ’em both out below and see if you are willing to give it a shot after Rourke’s “glowing” endorsement.

A remake of the French-language film 13 Tzameti, 13 centers on Vince (Sam Riley), a young man, who has decided to follow instructions intended for someone else without knowing where they will take him. Something else he does not know is that Larry Mullane (David Zayas), a cop on a knife-edige, is tailing him. When he reaches his destination Vince falls into a degenerate, clandestine world of mental chaos behind closed doors in which men gamble on the lives of other men.
