There are quite a few recent big screen releases coming home, starting with director Will Gluck’s Annie, starring Quvenzhané Wallis as the comic strip orphan turned Broadway star. Then, it’s back to ancient Egypt for the Ridley Scott biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton as Moses and the Pharaoh Ramses. DreamWorks Animation, meanwhile, delivers the animated adventure Penguins of Madagascar, while Universal offers the Academy Award-nominated Song of the Sea and Chris Rock writes, directs and stars in the comedy drama Top Five.
With season two set to premiere April 13, AMC brings home the first season of their revolutionary war thriller TURN: Washington’s Spies with all five episodes of the Ridley Scott-produced webseries Halo: Nightfall also hitting shelves.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has two light-hearted catalogue comedy dramas making their Blu-ray debut. Look for My Girl and Troop Beverly Hills, both arriving in HD for the first time with newly-created special features.
Finally, the Criterion Collection welcomes two brand-new additions with Francois Truffaut’s 1964 Palme d’Or nominee The Soft Skin and the 1947 southwestern noir Ride the Pink Horse, directed by and starring Robert Montgomery.
