Adrien Brody is joining the previously-announced Jeffrey Wright in Sony BMG Films’ Cadillac Records, which starts filming in March.
Brody will play famed blues/R&B record executive Leonard Chess, and Wright will be Muddy Waters. Joining them in the cast are Columbus Short, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Cedric the Entertainer and Tammy Blanchard.
Andrew Lack and Sofia Sondervan are producing for Sony BMG Film.
Writer-director Darnell Martin’s film explores Chicago in the 1950s, charting the colorful lives of American musical legends like Waters, Chess, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf and Elvis Presley. It will film in New Jersey and Mississippi.
