The Hollywood Reporter brings word today that “The Walking Dead” star Lauren Cohan is set to headline the upcoming horror film The Boy, from Lakeshore Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment.
Cohan will play a nanny in the film who is tasked with overseeing an unnervingly life-like doll by a couple who treat it like a real child, which the couple is using to cope with the death of their son; however, the nanny begins to suspect it is actually alive.
Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg of Lakeshore are producing along with Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Adam Stone, along with Jim Wedaa. The Devil Inside‘s William Brent Bell will direct the project, which features a script by Stacey Menear.
The Boy is eyeing a March start in British Columbia.
