Danny Glover and Danny Trejo are Back for Bad Asses on the Bayou

Samuel Goldwyn Films announced today that the action comedy franchise Bad Ass is officially becoming a trilogy when writer/director Craig Moss’ third installment, Bad Asses on the Bayou, arrives in theaters and on VOD March 6, 2015. Two new images from the film have also been revealed and can be found at the top and bottom of this story. Click on either for larger versions.

Bad Asses on the Bayou reunites the dynamic duo of Frank Vega (Danny Trejo) and Bernie Pope (Danny Glover) as they travel to Louisiana to attend the wedding of their dear friend Carmen Gutierrez (Loni Love). What was pictured as a wedding weekend escape to the south turns violently ugly as madness and mayhem ensue, pressing our senior heroes to once again serve justice.

Joining the Bad Asses on the Bayou ensemble is veteran actor John Amos (Die Hard 2, Madea’s Witness Protection) as Earl Morgan, father of bride-to-be and Carol Sutton (The Help, 21 Jump Street) as her mother, Lois Morgan. Jimmy Bennett (Orphan, Hostage), Sammi Rotibi (Django Unchained, Tears of the Sun) and Davi Jay (Puncture, “The Walking Dead”) also co-star.

“We are excited to bring this very funny, high-speed film to audiences around the country,” says Meyer Gottlieb, President of Samuel Goldwyn Films.” The film’s third installment again reunites remarkable actors with great on-screen chemistry and really delivers the laughs and action.”

“Not only do the Danny’s have incredible chemistry but they’re hilarious and we look forward to sharing the film with audiences worldwide,” adds Moss. “I am sure our fans will find the film as exciting as our first two and I am especially excited that ‘Bad Asses on the Bayou’ will debut simultaneously in theatres as well as video-on-demand.” The deal was negotiated by Ian Puente, Vice President and General Counsel of Samuel Goldwyn Films and by Ben Feingold on behalf of the filmmakers.

Bad Asses on the Bayou is produced by Ash R. Shah, Ben Feingold and Jim Busfield, reuniting the successful team that brought us the first two cult-hit installments.
