Just a week after learning that the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse will focus on Magneto and Mystique’s relationship, Raven herself Jennifer Lawrence was asked about her shape-shifting character and where we’ll find her when the 2016 sequel begins.
“She’s very complex,” Lawrence tells IGN. “She’s a hero to her own race in a way which makes her a villain to her opposite race. I don’t really know where she’s going to go. I’ve had a few conversations about where we’ll find her. She obviously needs to be in hiding somewhere.”
X-Men: Apocalypse will also feature the return of Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, but also younger versions of previously-seen characters such as Cyclops and Jean Grey, whom the filmmakers have begun testing for this week.
Scripted by Simon Kinberg, Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris, X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be the conclusion of a trilogy started with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past. Bryan Singer will return to direct with production set to begin in Montreal in April, 2015 for a May 27, 2016 release.
