Walt Disney Pictures has set Hairspray helmer Adam Shankman to direct Bedtime Stories, a live-action comedy to begin production in August, reports Variety. Andrew Gunn will produce.
Matt Lopez’s script revolves around a harried architect whose life is turned upside down when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew begin to come true. Shankman, Gibgot and Ann Marie Sanderlin are executive producers.
Shankman and his Offspring Entertainment partner Jennifer Gibgot are also developing a Topper remake that Shankman hopes to direct with Steve Martin starring, as well as a live-action Aladdin film being written by Bill Kelly (Enchanted).
