Talk to Me directors Danny & Michael Philippou’s next horror movie, Bring Her Back, has wrapped filming after a swift shoot.
Bring Her Back began production this Summer, and after a 41-day shoot, the brothers took to social media to announce they had wrapped their follow-up to the celebrated low-budget horror breakout Talk to Me.
The Philippous are reuniting with A24 for Bring Her Back, and they enlisted Sall Hawkins to star in the movie.
Sally Hawkins is no stranger to genre cinema, having starred in Guillermo Del Toro’s The Shape of Water and Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. She’s best known for dramatic roles in films such as Spencer, Submarine, An Education, and Happy-Go-Lucky.
What do we know about Bring her Back?
The movie also stars Billy Barratt (My Spy: The Eternal City), Jonah Wren Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Stephen Phillips (Subject), and Sora Wong.
The plot of Bring Her Back is currently unknown, but the film adds to the projects the Philippous are already developing, with a Talk to Me sequel and a documentary project inspired by their own journey into the world of international underground deathmatch wrestling.
It is produced by Samantha Jennings (Cargo) and Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook). Danny Philippou wrote the screenplay with Bill Hinzman. The score will be composed by Talk to Me’s Cornel Wilczek.
Talk to Me was one of 2023’s most-celebrated horror films, featuring a standout performance from star Sophie Wilde. It cemented the Australian-born directing duo the Philippous as exciting new voices in the genre.
