The Terrifier 3 cast includes some horror royalty, as legendary FX artist Tom Savini will play a role in Damien Leone’s festive slasher sequel.
Terrifer 3 cast adds an icon of gore in Tom Savini
Tom Savini is a horror icon on and off-screen. His practical work on George Romero’s Dawn and Day of the Dead, the Friday the 13th series, The Burning, Maniac, and more are cultural touchstones in onscreen gore. He’s had fun in front of the camera, too, with roles in the likes of Dawn of the Dead and Dusk Till Dawn.
Savini’s role in the movie is unknown now, but he’s a natural fit for a series betrothed to the idea of gore-splattered practical effects work.
David Howard Thornton returns as Art the Clown, the murderous antagonist of the Terrifier franchise. Art is set to unleash another barrage of bloody chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they snooze soundly in their homes on Christmas Eve.
The Terrifier 3 cast joining Tom Savini on a gory odyssey include those reprising their roles from the last movie, such as Lauren LaVera as Sienna Shaw, Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes, Elliot Fullam as Jonathan Shaw, and Chris Jericho as Burke. Daniel Roebuck will star as Santa Claus.
Damien Leone said last year that Terrifier 3 would aim for a tone closer to the original Terrifer, eschewing the supernatural undertones of Terrifier 2 somewhat (but not doing away with it entirely). With a bigger budget, better equipment, and a larger crew, Leone hopes to make the ultimate Terrifer movie.
Terrifer 3 will open in theaters on October 11, 2024, having been brought forward two weeks earlier this month.
