Originally released in 1995, Cutthroat Island starred Geena Davis, Matthew Modine, and Frank Langella. The film followed the story of Davis’ Morgan Adams, who inherits a ship from her farmer and aims to find a secret treasure on Cutthroat Island.
The film was directed by Renny Harlin, and released to generally negative reviews. It is often cited as one of the worst box office bombs in history, after it closed at just $10 million on a $98 million budget.
