According to Deadline, Rian Johnson’s production company T-Street is planning to start the production on Netflix’s highly-anticipated Knives Out 3 later this year.
The update comes over a year since Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery made its debut. The sequel earned writer-director Rian Johnson an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. At the moment, no casting has been made for the third installment.
Daniel Craig Returns for Knives Out 3
Knives Out 3 will once again be directed by Johnson, who’s currently finishing up the screenplay for the murder mystery franchise’s next installment. Besides Johnson, No Time to Die star Daniel Craig is also set to return to reprise his role as private detective Benoit Blanc. Further details about the plot and new characters are still being kept under wraps.
“It’s coming along,” Johnson said in a previous interview following the ended of the WGA strike. “I obviously couldn’t work during the strike, and now that it’s over, I’m diving in full force, and so it’s coming along. I’ve got the premise, I’ve got the setting, I’ve got what the movie is in my head. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing,”
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery centered around a billionaire who invited his long-time friends to a private island to play a murder mystery game. The sequel’s all-star ensemble cast included, Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, Ethan Hawke, and Hugh Grant.
