A new Jurassic World movie is in the works, with a writer who has experience with the franchise already lined-up.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a new Jurassic World movie is being made, with David Koepp set to write the latest entry. Koepp previously co-wrote the original Jurassic Park with Michael Crichton and wrote the first sequel in the franchise, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Most recently, Koepp wrote last year’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and the upcoming Steven Soderbergh film Presence.
The outlet notes that Universal Pictures is “deep in development” on the new Jurassic World movie, though there’s currently no director attached. It will apparently launch a “new Jurassic era” featuring a new story that will likely not include returning characters from previous Jurassic World or Jurassic Park movies.
Frank Marshall will be producing alongside Patrick Crowley, while Steven Spielberg will executive produce the picture through his Amblin Entertainment banner.
