Netflix has finally announced the Girls5eva Season 3 release date after over a year since the streamer saved the hit comedy from its Peacock cancellation.
The series is scheduled to make its return on March 14, 2024 with six new episodes. In addition, Netflix has also unveiled the first-look photo at Season 3, featuring the titular girl group singing to a crowd.
What to expect in Girls5eva Season 3?
“The members of the late ’90s girl-group Girls5eva — Dawn, Wickie, Summer, and Gloria — have reunited and recorded a new album, Returnity, so it’s time for the next logical step: a comeback tour,” reads the synopsis for Season 3. “With no plan, tour manager, or venues secured, the ladies pile into a van and hit the great unknown, doing their damnedest to promote their album and get back on top.”
“In the process, Girls5eva will grapple with life on the road, see their relationships tested, play a billionaire’s birthday party, sow their oats, confront parents they believe held them back, cross paths with the biggest pop star on the planet, and question if they really want “the big time” again. Will Girls5eva fast-track their comeback and sell their tour documentary in the process? Or will the road destroy them?”
Girls5eva is created and executive produced by Meredith Scardino (The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). It stars Sara Bareilles as Dawn, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Wickie, Busy Philipps as Summer, and Paula Pell as Gloria. It also features Daniel Breaker, Jonathan Hadary, and Ashley Park.
The series is executive produced by Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond, David Miner, and Eric Gurian, with Jeff Richmond serving as a music supervisor. It is a co-production by Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, 3 Arts, and Universal Television.
