Even though production on Deadpool 3 is still currently on hold due to the SAG-AFTRA & WGA strike, rumors about its potential ensemble cast continues to circulate online. One of the said rumors is the speculated appearance of Channing Tatum as Gambit.
An updated Deadpool 3 cast listing on IMDb seemingly spoiled Gambit’s possible appearance, as stuntman Joel Adrien has been added to the crew as Tatum’s stunt double. However, fans should note that this isn’t an official confirmation of Tatum’s involvement in Deadpool 3, since IMDb pages can be changed by anyone.
The Magic Mike actor’s long-delayed portrayal of the Marvel hero has been in the works since 2014. Before the rights to the X-Men characters returned back to Marvel Studios, Fox was originally developing a solo Gambit movie with Tatum as the lead.
Who’s the cast of Deadpool 3?
Deadpool 3 reunites lead star Ryan Reynolds with Free Guy and The Adam Project filmmaker Shawn Levy, who has signed on to helm the long-awaited project. Hugh Jackson and Jennifer Garner are finally coming out of their superhero retirement to reprise their respective iconic Marvel roles as Wolverine and Elektra in Deadpool 3.
The third installment will also feature the return of Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. In addition, the movie will also welcomed the addition of Marvel newcomers Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
The film is written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells from a previous draft by the Molyneux sisters (Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin). It is produced by Reynolds, Levy, and Kevin Feige, who previously assured fans that Deadpool 3 will officially be Marvel Studios’ first R-rated movie.
Deadpool 3 is currently slated to arrive in theaters on May 3, 2024.
