Castlevania: Nocturne Trailer Unleashes Hell on Revolutionary France

Netflix has unleashed a new Castlevania: Nocturne trailer and details of a special digital premiere event for the animated show.

Castlevania: Nocturne is the latest part of Netflix’s adaptation of Konami’s longstanding video game series. It is specifically based on the 1993 game Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and is set over 300 years after the events of the original Castlevania animated series.

Yesterday Netflix revealed a poster for the series featuring lead characters Richter Belmont and Maria Renard.

The trailer showcases the kind of bloody action we’ve come to expect from the Netflix adaptations.

Anchored by the global livestream of Castlevania: Nocturne (the day before the series will officially debut on Netflix), the showcase will feature surprise announcements and never-before-seen, sneak peek “drops” from the animated series fans are most excited about. The lineup of series included will soon be revealed.

Castlevania: Nocturne takes place in France, in 1792. It’s the height of the French Revolution, and in a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.

The series is being led by Showrunners Kevin Kolde and Clive Bradley. Bradley also serves as Creator/Writer. Sam Deats and Adam Deats share directing duties. Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation produce for Netflix.

Castlevania: Nocturne will debut on Thursday, September 28th on Netflix.
