In celebration of the blockbuster animated franchise’ 10th anniversary, Disney Publishing Worldwide, ABC Audio, and Walt Disney Animation Studios have teamed up for a Frozen podcast titled Frozen: Forces of Nature. It is a stand-alone sequel audio series featuring the return of fan-favorite sisters Elsa and Anna.
“ABC Audio is thrilled to introduce the power of audio storytelling to a new generation through the Disney Frozen Podcast,” ABC Audio VP Liz Alesse said in a statement (via Deadline). “This immersive series created in partnership with Disney Publishing Worldwide and Walt Disney Animation Studios taps into listeners’ imagination and offers parents an engaging, screen-free experience to share with their children.”
This project comes after it was recently confirmed that Frozen 3 has been in development at Disney, with the first two installments’ filmmaker Jennifer Lee not returning as the director.
What is Frozen: Forces of Nature about?
“Queen Anna has a lot on her plate – there are visitors in her Kingdom, a friend in need, and even the Duke of Weselton’s nephew skulking around – so when the Spirits of Nature start acting up, she knows she has to solve the problem – and fast – before things get more out of control,” reads the synopsis. “But when Anna and Elsa travel to the Enchanted Forest, they find mysterious copper machines that are disrupting the natural order of things. Who made these machines and what are they doing in the forest? And more importantly, how do Anna and Elsa stop them?
Set to take place after the events for 2019 sequel, Frozen: Forces of Nature will also introduce two new characters to the Frozen franchise in the form of Queen Disa of Sankerhus and Lord Wolfgang, the Duke of Weselton’s nephew.
