The Deadpool 3 working title has been revealed for the highly anticipated sequel that is set to bring Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What is Deadpool 3’s production name?
According to The Cosmic Circus, Deadpool 3’s working title is Tidal Wave. The sequel is also reportedly under the banner of Richmond Street Productions both in the United States and abroad. Unlike Venom 3’s working title, this doesn’t seem to outwardly hint at any major Deadpool villains or character-affiliated plot points.
Deadpool 3 is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously assured fans that it will remain an R-rated film — just like the first two movies, which would make it the studio’s first movie with said mature rating.
The film will also feature the long-awaited team-up between Deadpool and Wolverine as Hugh Jackman comes out of his superhero retirement to reprise his iconic X-Men role. Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
It will serve as the first movie in the Deadpool film series to be released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. The film is currently scheduled to release on November 8, 2024.
