Focus Features has released the official Asteroid City poster for Wes Anderson’s next movie. It features appearances from the star-studded Asteroid City cast that includes Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston, and more. The romantic comedy-drama is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on June 16, followed by a wide release on June 23.
Asteroid City was originally given an R-rating from the Motion Pictures Association of America for “brief graphic nudity.” However, Anderson and Focus Features were able to successfully appeal their decision. Its current official rating is PG-13 for “for brief graphic nudity, smoking, and some suggestive material.”
“It tells the story of a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and its Junior Stargazer convention, which brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest/recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more,” reads the official synopsis.
