According to Variety, Empire vet Tasha Smith has been tapped to join Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Bad Boys 4, which is currently in production.
Tasha Smith is set to portray the role of Marcus’ wife, Theresa Burnett, a character previously played by Space Jam actress Theresa Randle in the first three films. Further details regarding Randle’s exit have not yet been disclosed.
Who’s Involved With Bad Boys 4?
Bad Boys 4 will once again be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Ms. Marvel) from a screenplay written by Bad Boys For Life scribe Chris Bremmer. The fourth installment will feature the returning stars Will Smith as Mike, Martin Lawrence as Marcus, Paola Núñez as Rita, Vanessa Hudgens , and Alexander Ludwig as Dorn. The film will also introduced new cast members Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four) and Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy, Euphoria).
The project will be produced by Smith, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Doug Belgrad. Executive producers are Lawrence, James Lassiter, Chad Oman, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone.
2020’s Bad Boys For Life featured the crime-fighting duo of Mike and Marcus attempting to take down a drug cartel led by the cold-blood killer Armando Armas. The third installment was a commercial and critical success for Sony. It earned a worldwide gross of over $420 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing entry in the action franchise.
