The Marvels: 2 Additional Writers Revealed for Captain Marvel Sequel

Disney has recently revealed that a few more names will be credited as writers for the upcoming Marvel Studios film The Marvels.

According to Disney, Elissa Karasik (Loki) and Zeb Wells (Robot Chicken) were revealed as additional writers, joining director Nia DaCosta and writer Megan McDonnell. Karasik has served as a writer on just a handful of projects, most notably Marvel Studios’ Loki, in which she wrote on all six episodes.

Wells is a comic book writer that is best known for his work at Marvel Comics, where he’s written for a variety of books, mostly various Spider-Man stories. He currently serves as the lead writer for relaunched The Amazing Spider-Man series, which began in April 2022. In the world of Hollywood, Wells has mainly written for the comedy series Robot Chicken, but did serve as a writer for one episode of the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

The Marvels will see the return of Oscar winner Brie Larson as she reprises her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, who fans have last seen during Avengers: Endgame. Joining Larson in the sequel are WandaVision breakout star Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.

Additional cast also includes English actress Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw) as the sequel’s antagonist and popular South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon in an undisclosed role.

The Marvels will hit the theaters on July 28, 2023, as part of the MCU’s Phase Five.
