Henry Cavill Confirms His Return to the Role of Superman

Following his brief appearance in the post-credits scene of Black Adam, Henry Cavill took to Instagram to confirm he is back in the role of the Man of Steel.

Following a great deal of online speculation as to whether he would continue to be Superman in future DC films, Cavill confirmed that his cameo in Black Adam was only “a very small taste of what’s to come.”

Fans were excited to see Cavill show up after the animated credits of Black Adam, where he appears before Dwayne Johnson’s titular character at the behest of Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller. Johnson has spoken repeatedly about his desire to see the two titans battle, which now seems to be more of a possibility than ever,

Cavill previously appeared as Superman/Clark Kent in 2013’s Man of Steel, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2017’s Justice League, and 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Given the amount of time that has passed since Justice League, fans were uncertain as to whether Cavill was still set to play the Man of Steel, making this announcement a welcome surprise for DCEU fans.
