Guardians of the Galaxy’s Awesome Mix Vol. 1 Comes to Cassette!

In the player above, you can check out a trailer of sorts for a very special release of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack. As part of the upcoming Record Store Days festivities, the album will see release on a replica cassette tape designed to match the copy owned by Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord!

Record Store Day, which launched in 2007, is held twice a year with this particular release set to become available on November 28 during the tradition’s “Black Friday” event. An ‘RSD First’ Release, “Awesome Mix Vol. 1” is only an exclusive through the end of the year, so there’s a chance that it may become more widely available after that point.

A print run has not yet been announced, so it’s tricky to tell at this stage how easy it will be to actually obtain a copy as some RSD releases have, in the past, disappeared very, very quickly. If you want to try for a copy, however, you can find a full list of participating retailers right here.

The track listing for the album is as follows:

SIDE ONE:

1. “Hooked on a Feeling” – Blue Swede

2. “Go All the Way” – Raspberries

3. “Spirit in the Sky” – Norman Greenbaum (not featured in the film) 4. “Moonage Daydream” – David Bowie

5. “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” – Elvin Bishop

6. “I Want You Back” – Jackson 5

SIDE TWO

1. “I’m Not In Love” – 10cc

2. “Come and Get Your Love” – Redbone

3. “Cherry Bomb” – The Runaways

4. “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” – Rupert Holmes

5. “O-O-H Child” – The Five Stairsteps

6. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” – Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell
