After years of rumors and hints, Peacock has officially confirmed that the Community film is happening and will feature quite a few returning stars from the television series.

Six of the nine original cast members have been announced to be returning for the Community film. Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong are all set to reprise their roles as Jeff, Abed, Annie, Britta, the Dean, and Chang respectively. This leaves Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Chevy Chase, who are currently unattached to the film.
Series creator Dan Harmon and executive producer Andrew Guest were also announced to be leading the project. Harmon has been quite busy since Community‘s end, as he co-created Adult Swim’s massive hit series, Rick and Morty, with Justin Roiland. The film’s confirmation comes about a month after the last potential update on whether the movie would be made,

Community concluded its acclaimed six-season run in 2015 after jumping across multiple networks. The series has since gained further popularity through streaming services like Netflix, leading many fans to renew the “Six Seasons and a Movie” campaign that spawned from the show itself. With the announcement of the film becoming a reality, it seems like the series’ long-echoed slogan is finally being fulfilled.
